Los Tres Ryans
2006-05-19 -- Morgan
Last night there were three Ryans at Art Center working on Shortcomings, the recently shot short film which MAGNA will be scoring. Our Ryan aka (Rybot) was handling ADR (that's additional dialogue recording) in the company of the director Ryan Pearson (aka dRyrector) and the writer Ryan (aka Ryiter). Yes, that's some pretty lame shit, but it's true...they were there working with what sounds to be the edit, so expect news of MAGNA getting their turn up at bat relatively soon.

Big Busy Week
2006-05-18 -- Morgan
Well my drones, you know that I don't have my finger on the pulse, but that's probably because there's too much scheming and planning in the beautiful isolation of the MAGNA bunker regarding our upcoming Echo Location album to care. Nine of ten songs are finished, and the closing tune got a quick infusion of bass re-tracking, which effectively moves it to the verge of completion. With a little luck and a whole lot of availability, we'll make an attempt to screen the album on Friday, listening to it at Clear Lake where it was tracked - it's the only circumstance where it's kosher to seethe a kid in his mother's milk. And confirmed a few days ago by none other than Matt G., "Le Creator D'Art" for Echo Location, final touches are going to be applied to the epic painting which will grace the album as well as carry a strong motif into the website redesign.

you will not see this in the video, but we will be near it

And finally, this weekend marks the first of two shoots for the Jem video, and all the info is further down the page, because God forbid you remember it...so do as you're told.

contrary to what morgan may say, even though they were made by rock legend old-timers, stadium arcadium and the new pearl jam album don't suck. blast them on your next summertime outing.

Jemmer
2006-05-09 -- Morgan
Saturday was spent trouncing about Pasadena in search of the perfect locations for the Jem video. John, Billy, Rybot, and I traipsed about some sacred halls of learning and the wild wilderness to generate test shots and video for storyboarding, which we'll start compiling tonight.

where the magic happens

The video will feature Dan and Billy (as Neil Aspinal doing his best Bobby Byrd impression), and will be shot and recorded on May 20th. Two "live" portions will be shot and recorded at Clear Lake Audio and Pasadena Rehearsal Studios on May 27th.

We may need an extra pair of hands and bodies, so if you're interested and free, let us know and perhaps you'll be immortalized on DV...

Suffer The Children
2006-05-05 -- Morgan
While my bandmates may disagree, I will never support any fundrasiers or benefits associated with this douchebag hack. If you really want to help kids, make sure they're not going home after school and listening to Good Charlotte.

Currently listening to: "Hooker With A Penis" - Tool

Music On Film
2006-05-04 -- Morgan
Location scouting and pre-production begins this Saturday in Pasadena and Downtown LA for the video for Jem. We will also be tracking vocals for the tune, which may give you a hint as to what the video is about...or may not.

Currently listening to: "Sleep Dirt" - Frank Zappa

10,000 Days
2006-05-03 -- Morgan
If you're not listening to Tool's 10,000 Days right now then go immediately to the store to purchase it.

Also, don't be fooled into thinking the Red Hot Junkie Peppers or Pearl Crap are worth hearing just because they have new albums. From the covers alone you can see that Tool outshines RHJP or PC, and trust me, it only gets worse from there. 10,000 Days, Mogwai's Mr. Beast, and Echo Location from MAGNA are the only albums you need to listen to this year.
