Que's Reviewed!
2004-08-23 -- Morgan
Thanks to everybody who made the trek out to scenic Burbank and saw our latest show at Que's Riverbottom! Those of you with flat tires, sick children, or stingy parole officers missed a good one. But fret not, because we will have pictorial and videographic evidence of our rockingness shortly. For those who can't wait or simply don't remember, it was a night of many firsts. Five songs made their debut, and it was the first time the complete EP was performed (which if you don't already own and treasure can be found in our online store). And though we are an instrumental band, we threw you a curve and gave you a song with Dan on vocals! Of course, since there were new tunes, that meant new visual distractions to watch in accompaniment. Speaking of video, we set up a few cameras to test the waters and see how we look from the audience, and there is a chance you will be able to view some of that mixed with our audio recording of the show. Many thanks to Lexy for taking the paparazzi mantle and documenting the gig.

As mentioned before, there is something big in store for September, but you'll have to stay tuned until next week before we drop it on you. Don't forget our new MAGNA forum, where you can post your own review of the show, or any past gigs. Dan was kind enough to post the set list so you can be familiar with the names of what you heard. We will be starting new topics and conversations in there regularly, so sign up, join in, and be heard!

CIA recap
2004-08-09 -- Morgan
Thanks to all you boys and girls who made it out to C.I.A. on Saturday. Like many of you, we felt it was a funky and oddball place that was the right vibe and atmosphere for a MAGNA gig. We had a great time playing, and in case you didn't know, the second song was especially for you. Sorry for the lack of 'cohol, but they'll be fully stocked with a liquor license when next we play there, though you're always welcome to smoke, snort, shoot, swallow, or swig whatever helps you enjoy the music at a MAGNA show -- just don't try and steal our stash. Biggie ups to Josh and Lexy who documented the show for us digitally, and we will begin to post their photographic results by the end of the week. Extra major thanks to Mikey and Emma for opening their home to us after the show so that our fight club could meet -- I for one gladly got my ass kicked. We got to see some new faces with you at C.I.A, and we appreciate that you're bringing your friends out to experience MAGNA -- hopefully you picked up a flyer for our upcoming show back at Que's on August 21st (but we'll be harassing the hell out of you over the next two weeks anyway). Once again, MAGNA outdrew the other two bands playing that night combined, which we thank you for. Them club owners will give us many more opportunities to perform when you show up, which also in turn gives you more chances to get rocked by us or have sex / party / do homework / make friends with a band member / fellow fan / sleazy club employee / public official. Make MAGNA your social circle! [which leads me to my next point] If you haven't already been to the link on the posting below, our forum is up and running, so register yourself there and let us know your thoughts on the show. Finally, there's an open secret about a big event in September, but you're gonna have to stick around to find out exactly what it is, and yes, it will be awesome in all respects of the word.
